PodCast from WWI? What?

This is an assignment using new technology to describe history… when radio existed but wasn’t used for broadcasting.  It is an assignment for students to use podcasts to describe WWI.  They are correspondents/journalists.  The rubric is explained in the Podcast.  In the past, we have used assignments such as letter writing or report writing to get students to imagine being in the trenches of WWI.  This is a little different.  Enjoy!

  1. I love it! I think students would really love making one too, I know I would have… all of those explosions and gun fire, how dramatic!

Other than some volume issues (really had to turn my speakers up), it was really well done. I don’t know if I imagined it or not, but it sounded like your WWI reporter had a slight accent as well? Even if I imagined it, the character, and sound, were convincing. I’ll call Morgan Freeman to narrate, and we’ll make an NPR special out of this!
